The S.U. Difference

Professional Learning Plans

Hi , I'm Rus Hays, the founder/director of Survival University. You're in good hands here. I am a 35 year prepper and a 20 year military veteran with experience in special operations and aviation. While in the military, I taught for the University of Maryland Global Campus. I retired in 2008 to teach JROTC in public high schools where I still teach today. It is a tough crowd, but courses offered at S.U. have been taught and tested with proven results. Courses are based on an Essential Question which is followed with Learning Objectives. I am a fully licensed educator with an Associate of Science in Construction Management (Summa Cum Laude) from Ashworth College, a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a Master of Arts in Humanities with an emphasis in Literature from California State University at Dominguez Hills.

Instructor Feedback

The primary difference between Survival University and other survival courses is instructor commentary and the ability to receive personal feedback. All of our courses come with limited email support for questions and office hours via zoom or discord allowing personal one-on-one time with the instructor.
